Types of Airplanes Used by Airlines
1. Singapore Airline
Wide-Body Aircraft
Airbus A350-900
Variants: Standard, Medium Haul, and Ultra Long Range (ULR).
Usage: Long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes.
Notable Features: The ULR variant is configured for premium services, including Business and Premium Economy classes, and is utilized on some of the world’s longest non-stop flights.
Airbus A380-800
Usage: High-capacity long-haul routes.
Notable Features: Offers luxurious First Class Suites, Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
Boeing 777-300ER
Usage: Long-haul international routes.
Notable Features: Equipped with First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
Boeing 787-10
Usage: Medium to long-haul routes.
Notable Features: Features the 2018 Regional Business Class seats and modern Economy cabins.
Narrow-Body Aircraft
Boeing 737-8 (MAX 8)
Usage: Short to medium-haul regional routes.
Notable Features: Configured with flat-bed Regional Business Class seats and modern Economy cabins.
Boeing 737-800NG
Usage: Currently being phased out; final passenger flights scheduled for late October 2025.
Notable Features: Previously operated on regional routes; being replaced by the more modern 737-8 MAX aircraft.
Cargo Aircraft (Operated by Singapore Airlines Cargo)
Boeing 747-400F
Usage: Dedicated freighter operations.
Status: To be retired and replaced by Airbus A350F aircraft starting in late 2025.
Boeing 777F
Usage: Operated for DHL Aviation.
Airbus A350F
Usage: Future freighter operations.
Status: Deliveries expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, replacing older freighter models.
